Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) in the People’s Republic of China would like to offer undergraduate scholarships to outstanding students from the Belt and Road countries (including SEAMEO Member Countries) in the academic year 2018. The SYSU “2018 Belt and Road Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for International Students” is open for application until 30 April 2018. SYSU, founded by Dr Sun Yat-Sen in 1924, is a prominent research, academic and cultural institutes for talent development in South China. It is operated under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and strongly supported by both the Ministry and Guangdong Province. SYSU has become a modern comprehensive multi-disciplinary university that enjoys a reputation as a top-tier university nationally and a renowned university internationally. To improve its educational influence and to attract more students from all over the world, SYSU has setup the “Undergraduate Scholarship for International Students”, in support of outstanding students’ pursuit of bachelor's degrees at SYSU. In 2017, there were approximately 230 students received the scholarships through this programme. Kindly noted that, once the student applies, the applicants will not be eligible to apply for other concurrent scholarship programmes provided by provincial governments in the People’s Republic of China via SEAMEO Secretariat, for example, Jasmine Jiangsu Tertiary Education Scholarship for Southeast Asia, Guizhou Government Scholarship for Southeast Asia. ![]()

The Jasmine Jiangsu Tertiary Education Scholarship for Southeast Asia (JJTES-SEA) is open for application until 31 May 2018.
The 2018 Jasmine Jiangsu Tertiary Education Scholarship for Southeast Asia (JJTES-SEA) is a scholarship programme provided by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education (JPDE) for 87 secondary level graduates with excellent academic records from Southeast Asian Region to pursue certificates or degrees in the tertiary level institutions in Jiangsu Province, People’s Republic of China commencing from Academic Year 2018. The JJTES-SEA scholarships include forty-four (44) full scholarships and forty-three (43) partial scholarships. Details are presented here. They can also be accessed from SEAMEO website. In 2016, there were 71 students from 8 Southeast Asian countries that received the scholarships. In 2017, the number increased to 73 students from 10 Southeast Asian countries. The application is open until 31 May 2018. The scholarship management team will select and contact the successful candidates in two rounds: by April 2018 and by June 2018. Kindly noted that, once the student applies, the applicants will not be eligible to apply for other concurrent scholarship programmes provided by governments/organisations in the People’s Republic of China via SEAMEO Secretariat, for example, Sun Yat-Sen University Scholarship for International Students, Guizhou Government Scholarship for Southeast Asia.
