At the invitation of SEAMEO RETRAC, SEAMEO CELLL appointed officials to attend the 16th GBM of SEAMEO RETRAC from 19 to 21 September, 2013 in Vung Tau, Vietnam. SEAMEO CELLL officals participated actively in the open meetings and worked within the scope of the meetings to learn experience necessary for the first GBM of SEAMEO CELLL, expected to be held in September 2014.
Within the scope of SEAMEO RETRAC's GBM, SEAMEO CELLL officals also worked with Dr. Tinsiri Siribodhi, Deputy Director for Administration and Communication of the SEAMEO Secretariat, to exchange experience of preparing for its first meeting.
During a business trip to Vietnam, Dr. Ramon C. Bacani, Director of SEAMEO INNOTECH ( Phillipines), visited and worked with SEAMEO CELLL at the centre's head office.
Dr. Bacani shared with SEAMEO CELLL the experience and lessons learned from the management of SEAMEO INNOTECH, especially knowledge management and preparatory work for the annual governing board meeting. He also expressed interest in visiting the building which used to be SEAMEO INNOTECH head office in the 70s.
On behalf of SEAMEO CELLL, the Director showed gratitude to Dr. Bacani for the experience and hoped that the two centres would cooperate in the future.
Though a newly-established centre with operation started only recently in March 2013, following the signing ceremony of the Vietnamese Government and SEAMEO at the 47th SEAMEC Conference in Hanoi, SEAMEO CELLL has submitted its Fiscal Year Progress Report 2012-2013 to the SEAMEO Secretariat in accordance with the prescribed schedule.
SEAMEO Fiscal Year Integrated Reports are produced annually by the Regional Centres of SEAMEO, reflecting the centres' operational states in a fiscal year (from July to June of the following year) and updating information on personnel, organisation, facilities, expenses... Because SEAMEO CELLL officially joined the SEAMEO family only in 3/2013, the centre's report was entitled Progress Report rather than Integrated Report as those produced by other centres.
